Active Area
The active area is established during scene calibration and defines the field of play. Once set, the camera can accurately track movement, players, and other activities within this space. The active area on a soccer field can look as below.
AutoData
AutoData is automatically collected data from video footage that is processed into performance data. Using AI, things like player movements, team positions, and ball possession are tracked without needing manual input. This feature gives coaches and analysts quick, real-time stats to help them make better decisions and improve team performance. AutoData is an add-on to your Spiideo subscription and is not included in any subscription tier. The sports that you can order AutoData for can be found here.
Read more about AutoData here.
AutoData Credits
Regardless of the type of AutoData order that you are placing you will need credits to order. Different types of orders require different amounts of credits.
AutoData standard requires 1 credit for a single order (data for one team) and 2 credits for a double order (data for both teams).
AutoData advanced requires 2 credits for a single order (advanced data for one team) and 4 credits for a double order (advanced data for both teams).
AutoFollow™
AutoFollow™ is the model used by the cameras to track and follow objects, players, set plays, transitions and more. The resulting AI camera motion delivers a remarkably smooth watch both in Spiideo Play, Perform and Replay PRO.
AutoFollow can be divided into three types.
Standard AutoFollow:
This is the most basic and default tracking mode where the system automatically follows the action in the most straightforward way. It typically focuses on the ball or players without prioritizing any specific tactical elements. It's ideal for capturing general gameplay and action.
All-players AutoFollow:
In All Players mode, the camera automatically tracks every player on the field. This mode is perfect for capturing the entire action of a game or event, as it adjusts to ensure that all players are in view, regardless of where they are on the field.
Wide AutoFollow:
In Wide mode, the camera captures a larger view of the field or court, generally showing the entire playing area. It provides a general field view, keeping both teams and the ball in perspective. The camera’s focus is on covering a broader area, often showing large portions of the field.
Calibration, stitch and recalibration
Calibration refers to the process of aligning the camera system digitally to ensure accurate tracking with AutoFollow as well as a seamless stitch on cameras.
The stitch refers to the process of seamlessly merging video from multiple cameras into a single panoramic view. The calibration ensures that these cameras align correctly without visible issues.
Recalibration is the process of adjusting the calibration when conditions change, such as camera movement or environmental changes.
CloudLink RTSP
CloudLink RTSP is a low-latency feed from Spiideo's cloud into the external software (Sportscode, Angles, SBG Focus, OBS, vMix, Production truck etc.). The feed can be either clean or with graphics, with or without AutoFollow and only has a 3-second latency from Spiideo to your external software.
CloudStudio
CloudStudio is Spiideo’s cloud-based live production and broadcasting platform, allowing users to remotely produce, edit, and stream sports events directly from the cloud without the need for local hardware or on-site camera operators.
Read more about CloudStudio here.
Custom Download
A custom download allows users to personalize their video downloads by selecting specific settings before downloading. Unlike predefined downloads, it offers greater flexibility for analysis, editing, and highlight creation.
Read more about custom downloads here.
Data Explorer
With Data Explorer, coaches, analysts, and teams can filter, compare, and drill down into specific insights based on the footage and event data. It allows users to analyze and visualize data from their sports events. It provides a comprehensive way to explore various types of data, such as player performance, team statistics, and game events, in an easy-to-understand format.
Read more about data explorer here.
Firewall
In Spiideo, a firewall controls network traffic between Spiideo cameras and cloud services. If misconfigured, it can block video streaming, NTP synchronization, and remote access, causing delays or connection issues. To ensure smooth operation, firewalls should allow outbound traffic to Spiideo’s servers, open necessary ports, and enable NTP sync for accurate timestamps. Proper configuration ensures uninterrupted video recording, streaming and cloud access.
Read more about firewall settings here.
League Exchange
This feature allows for the sharing of video content and data between different sports leagues, teams, and organizations. It facilitates collaboration by enabling users to exchange game footage, performance analytics, and other relevant data. This helps teams and coaches analyze opponents, review game strategies, and share insights with others within the league, making it easier to stay connected and informed.
Read more about league exchange here.
PoE (Power over Ethernet)
Power over Ethernet (PoE) refers to the technology that allows cameras and devices to receive both power and intenet through a single Ethernet cable. This simplifies installation by eliminating the need for separate power cables and reduces the number of wires required to set up the system. Thus helps streamline the installation process, ensures a more efficient and organized environment, and allows cameras to operate seamlessly while connected to the internet for data transmission.
Read more about the PoE requirements here.
NTP (Network Time Protocol)
Network Time Protocol ensures that all cameras and cloud services are synchronized to the correct time. This is crucial for maintaining accurate timestamps, event tracking, and aligning video footage with external data like scoreboards or analytics tools. NTP helps ensure seamless synchronization between multiple cameras and prevents timing mismatches, which can affect playback and integrations. To avoid issues, firewalls should allow NTP synchronization for smooth operation.
Read more about NTP settings here.
Portable SmartCam
A Portable SmartCam is our mobile, AI-powered camera designed for easy setup and use at various sports events. Unlike stationary cameras, it offers flexibility in location, allowing for quick deployment without permanent installation. The camera automatically tracks players or events and supports live streaming, making it ideal for temporary venues or mobile setups.
Read more about the Portable SmartCam here.
Predefined Download
A predefined download is a ready-made, automatically generated video file with preset settings. It provides a quick and convenient way to download recordings in Spiideo Perform.
Read more about predefined downloads here.
Quotas
Quota refers to the amounts of video storage and recording time that you have available on your account during a certain period of time. There are two types of quota:
Recording hours which refer to the total amount of time an account is allowed to record using the system. Recording hours are counted when you record through the Spiideo system.
Cloud storage refers to the online storage space where all recorded video footage and other content is saved and accessed. Instead of storing footage locally on physical devices, Spiideo uses cloud storage to securely store and manage all video files in the cloud, making them easily accessible from anywhere with an internet connection.
Read more about quotas here.
Raw Feed RTSP
RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol) is a protocol used to stream raw, unprocessed video directly from a camera to a specified destination. It does not involve cloud processing or storage, and the video is typically viewed using a third-party media player. It provides live, unedited video streams without additional features such as analysis, data processing, or cloud storage.
Read more about raw feed RTSP here.
RTMP/SRT
Your broadcast from Spiideo Play can be sent to a variety of external services using Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) or Secure Reliable Transport Protocol (SRT). Sending your broadcast to any external service supporting RTMP or SRT is a great option if your club or organisation wants to stream on websites such as Youtube.
Read more about streaming via RTMP and SRT here.
Scene
The name in Perform of a venue, stadium, field, hall or location where Spiideo cameras and systems are installed. A scene generates a specific view or configuration of the playing area captured by the cameras during a game or event.
