Trimming Recordings

What is a trimmed recording and how to create one

Updated over 10 months ago

Saving recordings as 'Trimmed' allows you to save on storage quota while still keeping all of your important footage.

What is a Trimmed Recording?

A trimmed recording removes all footage in a recording that is not covered by a tag. By tagging your recording and then trimming, you delete all untagged footage that is not needed and keep all that is tagged for further analysis

A trimmed recording:

  • Can be set before or after the recording is complete

  • Helps to save on storage quota

  • Has a 10 day period to trim, giving you time to undo

  • Cannot be undone once trimmed

How to Trim a Recording?

There are two places to trim a recording:

1. When Scheduling/Starting your Recording

When creating/scheduling your download, you can choose 'Trimmed Recording' under the 'Store as' drop down menu

Once the recording is complete, you will see a red countdown notice showing how long until the recording is trimmed

2. After your Recording is Complete

Click the '3-dots' menu on the recording tile

Under the 'Store as' drop down menu, choose 'Trimmed Recording'

Once the recording is set to trimmed, you will see a red countdown notice showing how long until the recording is trimmed
