Camera system notifications are a great way to get notified of any connection issues immediately to ensure your arenas are online and ready for upcoming broadcasts.
In this article, we will cover the different types of email notifications and when they are triggered. Notifications are typically sent to two groups of people:
Internal: Members of your Spiideo Play account
External: Non-members (Example: IT responsible for venue)
Account Level Notifications
An email is sent if any arena within the account encounters a connection issue (cameras losing network/power). All administrators of the account will have this feature enabled. See steps below for how to enable and disable notifications.
You can also add external recipients such as a groundskeeper.
Enabling or Disabling Notifications on an Account Level
To enable or disable the notifications on an account level:
Go to your notifications settings in the CloudControl tab
Locate the 'Enabled' column on the right hand side and toggle on or off notifications for each member.
Adding Notification Recipients
Adding notification recipients is a great asset that can be used when you want a certain person to receive notifications without adding them as a member on the account.
To add a notification recipient:
Under the 'CloudControl' tab click on 'Notification Settings'
Click on 'Add notification recipient
Fill in the email adress of who you wish to add as a recipient
Click 'Save'
Arena Level Notifications
An alternative to notifications on an account level is notifications on an arena level. By default these notifications are disabled.
To enable or disable arena level notifications:
Under the 'CloudControl' tab click on the arena you want to adjust the user notifications on.
Click on 'Settings' and scroll down
Click to toggle on or off the notifications.
You can also add external notification recipients on an arena level.
To add notification recipients on an arena level:
Under the 'CloudControl' tab click on the arena you want to adjust the user notifications on.
Click on 'Settings' and scroll down
Click to toggle on or off the notifications.
What Triggers a Notification?
Today we send email notifications for two occasions:
When a Arena has gone offline/online
When an offline Arena has a scheduled recording coming up soon
Arena Online/Offline
We send out an email when a arena has gone offline, or has come online again
To avoid dozens of emails, the arena must be in the changed state (Online -> Offline, Offline -> Online) for 1 hour before you are notified
Scheduled Recording
We send email notifications about upcoming broadcasts on offline Arenas
These notifications are sent at specific intervals before a broadcast starts, which are
24 hours prior to start
12 hours prior to start
6 hours prior to start
3 hours prior to start
1 hours prior to start
30 minutes prior to start
10 minutes prior to start
If you disable your alerts, you and others will not be notified if cameras go offline before important games. Unfortunately, Spiideo cannot recover footage if cameras were offline
