Import and Export Tags in Spiideo Perform

Learn how to import and export data to and from Spiideo Perform.

Updated this week

Being able to import and export tags to and from Spiideo is an important feature if you are working across multiple platforms such as Hudl Sportscode, Metrica Sports PlayBase, LiveTag.PRO or Altova XMLSpy.

Import Tags

Importing tags from an external program into Spiideo allows you to view those precise moments perfectly aligned with the Spiideo footage, keeping your entire analysis workflow synchronized.

To begin importing tags:

  1. In the 'Recordings' tab, find and select the recording that you would like to import tags to.

  2. Click 'Info'.

  3. Click 'Import tags'.

To continue:

  1. Select the file type you want to import and click 'Next'.

  2. Click 'Select File' and choose the file you want to upload from your device.

  3. You’ll now see a preview list of all tags to be imported. Click on a tag to set it as the reference. Once the reference tag is placed on the timeline, all other tags will automatically be positioned accordingly. Once you've clicked on a tag click 'Next'.

  4. Select where to place your reference tag. You can determine the exact position by:

    1. Clicking on the timeline.

    2. Click the button with the forward arrow and ‘5’ to forward 5 seconds.

    3. Click the button with the backward arrow and ‘5’ to rewind 5 seconds.

    4. Click 'I►' to rewind frame by frame.

    5. Click '◀I' to advance frame by frame.

If you want to clear the timeline click 'Reset tag position'.

Once you are satisfied with the position of the reference tag click 'Next' to import the remaining tags.

If you want to delete all your imported tags this can be done in a few steps.

To delete all imported tags:

  1. Click 'Manage imported tags'.

  2. Click 'Delete' and confirm by clicking 'Delete' again.

Export Tags

Exporting tags lets you integrate Spiideo’s event data with tools like Hudl Sportscode, Nacsport, or Dartfish, combine it with external datasets for deeper analysis, and share it with partners or collaborators without requiring Spiideo access.

To export tags:

  1. In the 'Recordings' tab, find and select the recording that contains the tags you wish to export.

  2. Click 'Info'.

  3. Click 'Export tags'.

An XML file with your tags will begin downloading locally to your device.
