Use your Spiideo Tags

Learn how to utilize your Spiideo Tags in the best way possible.

Once you've finished tagging, you can use your tags in several unique ways to improve your analysis.


The Tag Timeline

Located just below the video player you will find your tag timeline. By default you will see one timeline consisting of all of your tags.

To view the timelines of each tag click on the collapsible menu button located just below the video player clock.


Click on the '>' icon located on the left of a first-level tag to see its connected second-level tags.


If you have used two-level tagging you can choose if you want to view the tag timelines based on first- or second-level tags.

To switch between first- and second-level tags click on the 'Reverse first/second-level tags' icon.


If you quickly want to navigate through your tags without having to click on them individually you can use the arrows located on either side of the timeline.

To jump forward click on the '▶' icon located to the right of the timeline and to jump backward click on the '◀' icon located on the left side of the timeline.


Adjust the length of your tagged clip by shortening or lengthening it.

To adjust the clip length:

  1. In the timeline, click the tag you want to edit.

  2. Click on the '▼' icon located to the right of the tag name.

  3. Click on 'Edit'.

    1. Under 'Start', click the '-' or '+' icon to adjust the recording timestamp for when the clip starts.

    2. Under 'End', click the '-' or '+' icon to adjust the recording timestamp for when the clip ends.

    3. The new clip length can be seen under 'New clip length'

  4. Click on 'Save' once you are happy with the clip length.


If you have accidentally tagged an instance or want to delete one due to other reasons, this can be done in three steps.

To delete a tag:

  1. In the timeline, click the tag you want to download.

  2. Click on the '▼' icon located to the right of the tag name.

  3. Click 'Delete'.


Filtering your Tags

Use the tag filter if you do not wish to see all of your tags on the timeline.

To use the tag filter:

  1. Click on '# Tags' located just below the video player.

  2. Click on the 'select all' option colored in black to deselect/select an entire group of tags.

  3. Click on the individual tag(s) colored in green to deselect/select them.

  4. Click on the 'X' icon to save.


The tag filter is available in the iOS application too.

To use the tag filter in the iOS application:

  1. Press the funnel icon located just below the video player on the left hand side of your screen.

  2. Toggle 'Show favorites only' to filter out any non-favorite tags.

  3. Press 'Deselect/select all' to deselect/select an entire group of tags.

  4. Press the individual tag(s) deselect/select them.

  5. Press 'Close' to save.


Download your Clip

Store your tagged clips locally using five steps.

To download a clip:

  1. In the timeline, click the tag you want to download.

  2. Click on the '▼' icon located to the right of the tag name.

  3. Click on 'Downloads' located just above the video player.

  4. Click on the 'Downloads' tab to see all of your created downloads.

  5. Once a download is fully processed, click on the name to start downloading it.


Add your Clips to a Presentation

Adding clips to a presentation is a great option if you want to present either all or just a few tagged clips.

To add all of the tags from the timeline:

  1. Click on the '' icon to the right side of the timeline.

  2. Click '+ Add to Presentation'

  3. Click on the presentation you wish to add the clips to or create a new presentation to add them to.


To add one tag to a presentation:

  1. In the timeline, click the tag you want to download.

  2. Click on '+ Add to presentation'

  3. Click on the presentation you wish to add the clips to or create a new presentation to add it to.


Adding a clip to a presentation is available on the iOS application too.

To add all tagged clips to a presentation from your iOS device:

  1. Press the '+' icon located at the bottom left of the video player.

  2. Press 'Clips from all filtered tags'.

  3. Press on the presentation you wish to add the clips to or create a new presentation to add it to.


To add one tagged clip to a presentation from your iOS device:

  1. Select the clip you want to add to your presentation using the '<' or '>' icon to navigate through your tags.

  2. Press the '+' icon located at the bottom left of the video player.

  3. Press 'Clip from selected tag' if this is not already marked.

  4. Press on the presentation you wish to add the clips to or create a new presentation to add it to.


Smart Clip Collections

With the tags that you have created you can create Smart Clip Collections. Smart Clip Collections automatically collect tags from any of the recordings you have access to. Read more about Smart Clip Collections here.

To create a Smart Clip Collection:

  1. Click 'Clips' in the left-hand side menu.

  2. Click 'New Smart Clip Collection'.

  3. Enter a title.

  4. Select scenes to filter by.*

  5. Enter a recording title to filter by.*

  6. Select specific groups to filter by.*

  7. Choose a date range to filter by.*
