Possible causes and solutions for the Portable SmartCam camera not connecting

If your camera is unable to connect, you may see the following screen in the Portable SmartCam Setup menu:

If this is occurring for you, please try the following:

  • Restart the camera

  • Check that your ethernet cable is firmly secured from the camera port on the side of the carry case to the port on the side of the Portable SmartCam

  • Check that both ports are free of any and all debris

  • Check the integrity of the ethernet cable. You can try connecting with another cable to rule out any damage (any Cat6 cable will work)

  • Perform a fresh install of the Spiideo iOS app by uninstalling and reinstalling. After this, try connecting the camera again
