Best practices on suggested distance and height for your camera systems

This article helps our customers know where to mount your Spiideo camera systems for the best possible viewing experience. Every arena around the world is different, so please consult with our installation team to ensure best possible camera placement.

If you want the best possible viewing experience for broadcasting or analysis, it's critical to ensure the optimal mounting position for your specific arena(s).

Every arena around the world is different, so please consult with our team to get real examples of how your arena would look before installing.

S-LINE Wide Camera Positioning

Key characteristics:

  • S-LINE Wide is our most widely used camera system

  • 2 camera setup for the sideline perspective

  • Used for all sports

  • Perfect for large stadiums, practice fields with poles, or press box setups

What to look for?

  1. First, determine how far back you can mount the cameras from the sideline

  2. Based on that distance, refer to the chart to choose the best height and pictures

  • X-LINE Wide is our most widely used camera system for large arenas (stadiums)

  • Popular choice if you want the best quality

  • 2 camera setup for the sideline perspective

  • Performs very well in low light conditions such as evening games

  • Used mostly for all sports

What to look for?

  1. First, determine how far back you can mount the cameras from the sideline

  2. Based on that distance, refer to the chart to choose the best height (based on the green optimal zone for viewing)

Key characteristics:

  • D-LINE Wide is only used when you only can mount very close to the sideline (1-3 meters)

  • 180° horizontal viewing angle

  • Popular choice for cameras behind the goal (if very close to the endline)

  • Not recommended to use for > 4 meters

What to look for?

  1. First, determine how far back you can mount the cameras from the sideline

  2. Based on that distance, refer to the chart to choose the best height (based on the green optimal zone for viewing)
