How to Share Live Video with an Opponent Who Does Not Have Spiideo

This article covers your options for sharing a live recording with a visiting opponent who does not have access to Spiideo.

This article is not for:

  • Sharing video after the game

  • Sharing video with opponents who are Spiideo customers – for that use-case please refer to (Game Exchange) or content can be accessed by our Competition (Legue Exchange experience) where we have league agreements

There are two options:

  1. Create two recordings — one for your staff, one for your opponent

Before proceeding, there are other ways you may be able to share live video – such as getting access to the broadcast feed to share with your opponent. These are not mandatory workflows.

Option 1: Two Recordings

Record twice, simultaneously: one recording for your staff to tag and analyze as usual, and a second, separate recording shared only with a limited-access Member representing the opponent.

Initial Setup (one-time)

  1. Create a new Member in your Spiideo account — not an Admin.

  2. Create a Group called Away Team.

  3. Add your own email to the Away Team group.

  4. Add the new Member to the Away Team group.

Use a generic, reusable login for the Member (e.g. spiideo-access@gmail.com) so you can reuse it for future opponents instead of creating a new Member each time.

On Gameday

Before the game

  • If you're providing a viewing device (e.g. iPad): log it into the Member account and hand it over.

  • If the opponent brings their own device: have them download the Spiideo iOS app, then log them into the Member account. Log them out after the game.

Sharing the recording live

  1. Start your recording and share it with your staff as usual.

  2. Start a second recording and share it with the Away Team group.

  3. Have the opponent log in via app.spiideo.net or the iOS app (or log in on their behalf).

  4. Confirm the Away Team has access before the match starts.

After the game

  • Delete the shared recording to save storage, or keep it — your choice. This also means the opponent (if still logged in) would not be able to access the recording post-match.

  • The opponent retains access to the Member account until you log them out. If you provided them with the user/password, we recommend you change the password.

What the Opponent Can See

The opponent can only view the recording shared with the Away Team group. They cannot access any other content, tags, notes, or analysis in your account.

Option 2: CloudLink

If you have the CloudLink add-on, share the RTSP link with your opponent so they can ingest the feed into third-party products such as Sportscode or Catapult.
