Before you start using your Contour Multimedia Xpress Controller in Spiideo Replay, you need to configure it. If you need information about purchasing the controller, its features, and how to use them, click here.
When configuring your controller, there are two options:
Option 1 (Recommended): You download an older Mac-only driver from Contour that lets you import a pre-made Spiideo profile.
Option 2: You download the latest driver from Contour and manually program each command yourself using Replay's keyboard shortcut list.
Regardless of the option you decide to go with, make sure that you have downloaded and are using Google Chrome before you start.
Option 1: Pre-made Spiideo Profile (Recommended)
This method allows you to import a pre-configured profile so you do not have to map the buttons manually.
Please note that this option is available for Mac computers only.
Step One: Plug the Contour Multimedia Xpress into your Mac.
Connect the Contour device to your Mac computer using either USB-C or USB. Both options are included when purchasing the Contour device.
A pop-up window will appear asking for permission to allow the Contour device to connect to the computer. Click 'Allow'.
Step Two: Download the Mac Driver and Spiideo Settings Profile
Mac Driver
A Mac driver is a piece of software that helps your Mac's operating system communicate with and control a hardware device.
Download the Mac driver by clicking here. This will download a zip file called Contour Shuttle 4.0b406 2.zip. Double-click the zip to reveal the disk image file Contour Shuttle 4.0b406.dmg inside.
Spiideo Settings Profile
A Spiideo setting profile is a pre-configured file that automatically maps the Contour Shuttle's buttons and dial to the right keyboard shortcuts for Replay.
Click on the file at the bottom of the article called Spiideo Replay Controller v1.0.shuttleSettings to download it.
Step Three: Add the Driver to Your Applications Library
Double-click the file Contour Shuttle 4.0b406.dmg, then click and drag the 'Contour Shuttle' icon to the 'Applications' folder.
Step Four: Open the 'Contour Shuttle' App
The first time you open the Contour Shuttle app, you'll need to approve a few pop-up messages.
The first time you open the Contour app:
Open 'Apps' on your Mac computer.
Click on 'Contour Shuttle'.
Click 'Open' to confirm that you want to open the app.
Click 'OK' when asked if the Shuttle App can use a new driver extension.
Click 'Quit' to close the app.
Step Five: Enable Driver Extension
To enable the driver extensions:
Open 'Settings' and head into the 'General' section.
Click 'Login Items and Extensions.'
Click on the 'ⓘ' icon located next to 'Driver Extensions'.
Click the Contour Shuttle toggle to enable the driver extension.
Fill in the user password.
Click 'Done'.
Step Six: Import the Spiideo Profile into the Contour Software
To import the Spiideo Profile:
Open 'Apps'.
Click 'Contour Shuttle'.
Click the cogwheel icon in the bottom left.
Click 'Import Settings'.
Click the Spiideo profile file, which was downloaded during step two, and click 'Open'.
Click 'Replace'.
You can confirm that the profile has been correctly imported if you under 'User' see 'Spiideo Replay Xpress v1.0'. If your profile has been imported with another name, you can click on the profile name to adjust it.
Step Seven: Restart your Mac Computer
Restart your Mac computer.
Once your Mac has restarted, your controller is ready to use in Spiideo Replay.

Option 2: Manual Setup (Custom Programming)
This method allows you to map specific buttons to the exact commands you prefer.
Step One: Plug the Contour Multimedia Xpress into your Mac.
Connect the Contour device to your Mac computer using either USB-C or USB. Both options are included when purchasing the Contour device.
A pop-up window will appear asking for permission to allow the Contour device to connect to the computer, click 'Allow'.
Step Two: Download the Mac Driver

To download the Mac driver:
Click here.
Scroll down to 'Shuttle Controller'.
Download the latest version for Mac. This will download a file called MMC MacOS build XXX.
Step Three: Open the Mac Driver
The first time you open the Contour Driver Multimedia app, you'll need to approve a few pop-up messages.
To open the Mac driver:
Double-click on the newly downloaded file.
Double-click on 'Contour Design Multimedia.
In the pop-up window, click 'Open'.
In the next pop-up window, click 'Allow'.
Step Four: Create a Contour Account or Log In
If you are creating a new account, remember to verify your email address to activate your account.
Step Five: Customize the Controller
There are a few options when customizing your controller.
To customize your settings:
Click 'Click to Edit'.
Click 'Type Keystroke'.
Enter the control settings.
Modifier: A modifier needs to be selected for any of the Spiideo Replay shortcuts, including Shift, Command, Control, or Option.
Add a Key: Enter the Spiideo Replay shortcut key.
Repetition:
If you only need one instance of the action (for e.g. when creating a point of interest), select 'Once Only'.
If you need continuous output (for e.g., when fast forwarding), select 'Hold Down'.
Comment: A place to keep a note of what your shortcut does.
