Live View/Recording is Pink

What to do if you notice a pink shade across part or all of your live/finished recording

Updated over a week ago

The Portable SmartCam contains a physical filter to help protect the camera lenses. This filter can sometimes suddenly deploy if:

  • The camera is exposed to harsh, direct sunlight

  • The camera falls or takes a hard hit

The deploy of this filter will look something like this in your recording:

Below are steps to take if you see this.

Issue on live view or before recording:

If you notice the filter has deployed before you begin recording, you should:

  • Cycle the power by turning the power switch off and on again

  • Retry the calibration step once connected, the filter should be removed

Issue during recording:

If you notice the filter has deployed during your recording, you should:

  • Stop the recording

  • Cycle the power by turning the power switch off and on again

  • Reconnect the camera and start a new recording

Unfortunately, we cannot remove the filter from the already recorded footage.

Issue after recording is complete:

If you notice that the filter has deployed after your recording is complete:

  • Cycle the power by turning the power switch off and on again

  • The filter should now be removed for future recordings

Unfortunately, we cannot remove the filter from the already recorded footage.
