AutoData for Basketball

An overview of the data included in AutoData Basketball orders and how to navigate it.

What Data is Included?

Ordering AutoData for your Basketball matches will provide a detailed, professional breakdown of your team as well as the opposition.

💡 AutoData for basketball can be ordered for games played over two halves as well as over four periods.

From your AutoData breakdown you will receive the following data points:


Also included is a game clock and a score bug displayed in the top left corner of the video player.


Accessing and Navigating your Order

To access your AutoData order, navigate to the game that you have placed your order on and click on the 'Data' tab.

From the 'Data' tab you'll be able to access the 'Stats' and 'Shots' data panels.


Stats

The stats panel is a display of all statistics for both teams and can be filtered by a full game or an individual half/period. It shows statistics related to for e.g score, field goals, fouls, rebounds etc.

To filter the data, click on 'All' to view the full game or select the specific half or period you wish to analyze.


Shots

Shot Chart

This panel shows the shot locations and their result. These can be filtered on full game, team and individual half/period.

To filter the data, select the desired team and then choose 'All' for the full game or select the specific half or period.


Shots are displayed as:

  • Made

  • Blocked

  • Off target


Click on a shot location point to jump directly to that moment in the recording.


Below the shot location panel you will find the players ranked by their total shots as well as the time and result of each shot.

Click the timestamp of a shot to jump directly to that moment in the recording.


Game Flow

This tab shows a timeline of all points scored in a match, with clickable data points for each point to review key moments.

To access the 'Game flow' tab, click on 'Game flow' located to the right of 'Shot chart'.


To filter the 'Game Flow' chart, click on the desired half or period located just below the chart. Click on a point in the chart to jump directly to that moment in the recording.


Timeline Filtering Options

Located just below the video player is a collapsible timeline which can be used for filtering the AutoData tags.

  • Click on the icon with two arrows facing each other to collapse or expand the timeline.

  • Click on the icon with the number 1 and 2 connected by a curved arrow to alternate between first and second level tags.

    • Examples of this could be:

      • First tag: Pass, shot, tackle, goal, 3-pointer, block.

      • Second tag: Player 3, Number 8, Jack Stephens, Defender, Attacker.

  • Click on the clock icon to filter on the full game or an individual half/period.


Click on 'Filter' to filter the timeline based on team, player and active play.


Click on ‘# Tags’ on the right-hand side to filter the timeline by tags.
By default, all available tags are highlighted in green. To hide a specific tag, simply click on it to deselect it.
To select or deselect an entire category of tags, click on the corresponding black-highlighted category label.


Click on a tag followed by the '▶' icon to jump directly to that moment in the recording.


Accessing Analytics

The analytics tab contains detailed team data and analytics for your AutoData breakdown.

To access the analytics tab click on 'Analytics' located just above the video player.


Hover over the title to see what the different numbers represent.


You can sort the table by team, team or player to display a detailed breakdown.

  • Click on a team abbreviation to filter the data by team.

  • Use the 'Time based' option to filter the breakdown by time, or select 'Player based' to filter by players.

  • When using the player-based filter, you can choose to view data across all phases or focus on individual phases.


Click on a data point to open a playlist on the right side of the screen.


From the playlist view you can:

  • Add an individual clip to a presentation.

  • Download an individual clip.

  • View data as a timeline or as plots on a field map.

    • Click on a point in the timeline or on the map to jump directly to that moment in the recording.

  • Filter the data point on different variables.

  • Add all of the data point clips into a presentation.


Navigation Tips

Actionable buttons are most often represented by an underline or by blue text and are available for quick and precise navigation through your data points.

Click on underlined or blue text option to quickly filter the timeline based on a data point.
