How do you integrate with tools e.g. Sportscode?

For teams that would like to use Spiideo together with tools for e.g. tagging such as Sportscode, Spiideo provides a number of different integration points for video and data. The following options are available:

  1. Using downloaded Spiideo video files in e.g. Sportscode

  2. Using Spiideo Live images via RTSP

  3. Tag export and import

  4. Best practice

1. Using downloaded Spiideo video files in e.g. Sportscode

Spiideo Autofollow download

When a Spiideo recording is started the system can produce downloadable video files containing the entire recording. These files can be downloaded from spiideo.net as soon as the recording has been stopped. There is one downloadable file per viewing angle. For viewing angles with Virtual Panorama™, the downloadable file is created using Spiideo’s Autofollow technology. All downloadable files are encoded with H264 with 1080p resolution.

Spiideo custom downloads

Custom downloads are created upon request by the user on app.spiideo.net.

  • Time: The full recording or parts of it.

  • Content: Autofollow or any fixed view that the user selects on the screen.

The user can create any number of Custom downloads. The custom download files can then be downloaded from spiideo.net. All downloadable files are in 1080p resolution. Custom downloads can be created while a recording is ongoing as well as after the recording has been stopped.

2. Using Spiideo video live images via RTSP

With Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) you can stream directly from individual Spiideo cameras into Sportscode and other coding platforms.

This is a feature in Spiideo, that will allow you to get access to each individual Spiideo camera while recording, and then activate the raw camera feed to be sent over RTSP to any client software that is capable to handle this type of input stream. In Sportscode for instance, this feature is available with version 11 and up of Sportscode Elite (select Capture and the select IP Capture).

Go to live tagging > press the "i" icon (in the top right corner) > click on RTSP to get details about the IP number, username, and password

Tip: The camera and computer must run on the same network and any firewalls need to allow RTSP traffic through.

3. Tag export and tag import

Using Spiideo tags in Sportscode

If you have tagged using Spiideo, those tags can also be exported as an XML file from Spiideo (in app.spiideo.net) and then imported into Sportscode (or other tools capable of importing an XML file)

Using Sportscode tags in Spiideo

Sportscode tags (codes and labels) can be exported from Sportscode and then imported into Spiideo via an XML file. The import is done via app.spiideo.net (not available on IOS).

Tip: After syncing the tags (setting the corresponding start in the video for a tag with no start time, e.g. kick-off), they will appear in the Spiideo recording timeline in sync with the video.

⚠️ Note: Right now, the import of F24 files into Spiideo only works after transforming it to an XML file.

4. Best practice

By capturing video live or after the game via iPad and Blackmagic converter, you can even use Spiideo's panned, tilted and zoomed view in Sportscode.

Live capture of Spiideo video in Sportscode can be done by connecting the user’s iPad via a Blackmagic converter to the Mac. Everything displayed on the iPad screen will be displayed and captured in Sportscode. The Spiideo recording can be live or recorded in the past.

The user can use Autofollow™ freely pan, tilt and zoom in the Spiideo app on the iPad and the corresponding view will be captured by Sportscode. In addition, the user can change viewing angles in the Spiideo app. The Spiideo app on the iPad has a full-screen mode to ensure that only the video is captured by Sportscode.
